Privacy Policy

Last updated: February 2025

ArtWalk (the “App”) is a companion app for exploring the Art Institute of Chicago.

Data We Collect

ArtWalk does not collect, store, sell, or share personal information. The App does not require an account or login.

On-Device Storage

ArtWalk saves a small amount of data locally on your device (for example: favorited artworks, visit history, and app preferences). This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to us. You can remove this data by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling the app.

Third-Party Services

To display artwork information and images, ArtWalk requests data from the Art Institute of Chicago public API. Those requests are sent to Art Institute servers, and their systems may log standard technical information (such as IP address) as part of normal web operation. For more information, see the Art Institute's privacy policy at artic.edu.

Analytics

ArtWalk does not use advertising trackers or third-party tracking SDKs. We use Vercel Analytics to collect anonymous, aggregated usage data (such as page views and visitor counts). This data does not identify you personally and is used solely to understand how the app is used and improve the experience. For more information, see Vercel's privacy policy at vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.

Children's Privacy

ArtWalk is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
